Course Content (Syllabus)
Organization and operation of a nursery for ornamental plants. Methods for producing propagation material. Classification of ornametal plants: annual and perennial plants, bulbous-rhizomatous-tuberous plants, evergreen and deciduous woody species (shrubs, trees), climbing plants and lawns. Botanical characteristics of each plant species, methods of propagation, soil and climate needs, season and duration of blooming, common pests and deseases. Reference is also made to concrete examples in their use in gardening and landscaping. Practicals.
