Learning Outcomes
Cognitive: Understanding of fundamental issues in logic design and digital circuits. Understanding the description of digital systems using high-level languages such as VHDL. Skills: Practical methodologies for designing and optimizing digital circuits. Digital circuits design with electronic design automation (EDA) tools.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Digital signals, digital data coding. Logic gates, Boole algebra, logic functions. Logic simplification, Karnaugh maps, algebraic methods. Combinational circuits, counters, comparators, encoders, adders etc. Sequential circuits, synchronous, asynchronous circuits. Latches, flip-flops, ROM and RAM memories. Introduction to Hardware definition Languages (Verilog, VHDL).
