Course Content (Syllabus)
Commercial production of cut flowers in the greenhouse and outdoors. Trade figures and facts from the global and the domestic flower market. Cultural practices and control of the environmental conditions for vegetative growth and flowering. Propagation, water relations and nutrition, harvest, postharvest handling, grading, packaging, storage, shipping, trading, physiological disorders, pests and diseases. Emphasis is given on plant species: rose, carnation, chrysanthemum, gladiolus, gerbera, lilium, gypsophila, etc.
