Introduction. Biological macromolecules. Viruses. The life cycle of viruses. Relations of viruses with cells hosts. Prokaryotic cell structure and function. Nutrition. Microbial growth. Metabolism. Environmental effects on microbial growth. Bacterial genetics. Genetic exchange in prokaryotes. Recombination. Mutations. Plasmids. Classification of micro-organisms.
