Learning Outcomes
Objective: To develop the student’s capacity to collect a patient’s medical-dental history and all available clinical examination data, critically analyze it, and develop an evidence-based treatment planning for fixed prosthodontic rehabilitation.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Course content: The development of specific protocols for diagnosis and treatment planning in fixed prosthodontics. More specifically, the topics of the course are the following: 1. History taking and clinical intraoral-extraoral examination 2. Diagnosis-Prosthodontic Diagnostic Index (PDI) 3. Principles of Occlusion-occlusal registrations-diagnostic waxing procedures 4. Pre-prosthetic treatment and restoration of the endodontically treated teeth 5. Treatment planning- Evaluation of prosthetic abutments-teeth 6. Provisional restorations 7. Modification of occlusal vertical dimension 8. Treatment planning-choice of approriate restorative material (metalceramic-allceramic) 9. Case reports
