Learning Outcomes
The basic objective of the lectures is for the undergraduates to gain adequate knowledge of the italian literature of the 16th and 17th century and to develop judgmental capabilities of understanding a text as well as the historical-literary output of the period, the ideological, literary and cultural frame that they belong to.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Study of the 16th and 17th century literature (history-text). A special emphasis is given to the periods of Umanesimo, Rinascimento, Barocco and poetical period of Manierismo. Texts of noted anthological creators such as Castiglione, Bembo, Della Casa, Machiavelli, Ariosto, Tasso etc are being studied.
