Learning Outcomes
At the end of the semester, the student should have understood and be able to analyze using microeconomic models: • the strategic behavior of firms regarding pricing and production in a perfect competition or monopolistic or oligopolistic environment • the effectiveness and desirability of different market forms • the market and pricing ​​of inputs in the production process like capital and labor

Course Content (Syllabus)
This course is a continuation of "Microeconomics I" and for this reason we start from the monopoly model dealing with resource allocation, price discrimination and welfare loss due to the monopoly. We will focus on oligopoly theory, especially on basic game theoretical models of pricing (Cournot, Bertrand, Stackelberg, Hotelling). Then we will deal with capital and labor markets, monopsony and bilateral monopoly. Especially in the capital markets will study the problem of intertemporal optimal consumption and investment.
