Learning Outcomes
The course consists of an introduction of students to financial mangement. In particular, the course introduces students to the basic functions and products of the financial system. Emphasis is placed on the time value of money, on the cost of capital and on the determinants of interest rates. Practical applications include bond and security valuation and capital budgeting decisions.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Financial institutions. Determinants of interest rates. Time value of money. Loan amortization. Bond valuation. Security valuation. Capital budgeting. NPV vs IRR.
