Through the familiarization with the methods and routines of cataloging of musical instruments and terms using the digital database of the Archive of Musical Iconography students are taught history of music, they recognize the peculiarities of systematic research and exercise in new approaches and the development of different scientific research methods in the area of musical iconography and the visual arts in general.
Course Content (Syllabus)
During this course we attempt to analyze the content of Musical Iconography together with its interdisciplinary character. Using as starting point a distinctive area of application, i.e. the material of classical antiquity, we approach methodology, research methods and application of the research results in a theoretical level, as well as a practical one through the knowledge of modern digital research tools.
