Learning Outcomes
After the course completion students will have a concrete view of the methods used for multimedia data mamagement. Moreover, they will be able to apply indexing schemes (as well as other methods) in multimedia data. In addition, the assignments will help students to gain additionan knowledge and solve practical problems.

- text databases - time series databases - music databases - video databases - dimensionality reduction - similarity search in multidimensional spaces - similarity search in metric spaces - relevance feedback - preference-based queries (top-k and skylines)

Description
Students grades are based on written examination (20-30%), in-class presentation of a scientific paper (20-30%) and system development in C++ or JAVA related to multimedia data management (40-60%).
