Course Content (Syllabus)
Chemistry of solid state: Crystal lattices and structures. Molecular, ionic, covalent and metallic bonding solids and their properties. Chemistry of semiconductors, n- and p-type semiconductors Nuclear chemistry: the structure of nuclei. Sub-nuclear particles, stable nuclear configurations, radioactive emission and biological effects of radiation, radioactive decay processes, carbon dating, other uses of radio-nuclides, nuclear fission and fusion. Inorganic chemistry in biological systems: Essential and trace elements, photosynthesis and breath. Nitrogen cycle
