Course Content (Syllabus)
This course is divided into two units. Firstly, lives and teaching of Church Fathers is studied and secondly, there is an historical-philological analysis of their works. Each writer of church Father is located on a place, time and spiritual environment. This course will figure out the way he interacts in relation with certain social, political, theological and ecclesiastical facts. On the second unit, there is a discussion about the problem of interpretation on church literature. The methods of interpretation, chosen by Fathers, will be presented and there will be a discussion about their impact on contemporary spiritual matters. The approach will become according to patristic texts, analyzed during this course.
