Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able:
-Τo notice the characteristics of the various educational theories and their relation with the educational psychology and the psychology of learning as well as recognize their importance and contribution to the learning process
-Τo realize the relation among the various learning theories and their continuity through the implementation of ICT in the shool.
-Τo identify the features of various theories of learning and recognize the importance and contribution to the process of learning,
-Τo realize how the learning theories were influenced and modified after the integration of ICT and how this modifties the teaching approach and procedure,
-Τo be able to relate and connect the learning theories with the teaching strategies, practices and applications.
To be informed on the place of RE in the greek curricula, its goals and aims.
to understand the peculiarity of the instruction of Religion
to be informed on the teaching principles and teaching models and their implementation and integration into the teaching of Religion and be able to relate them with the learning theories.
To prepare a teaching plan according to the modern teaching principles and models of teaching (teaching scenario, project)
To know the pedagogical and instructional background of educational technologies (ICTs)
To integrate constructively the educational technologies (ICTs) into the instructional design of Religion (digital teaching scenario)
To be abe to find on the internet digital material (interactive e-books, educational software, learning objects, digital teaching scenarios) to integrate in the instruction of RE (Digital School, Panhellenic Platform of Learning Objects "PHOTODENTRO", platform AISOPOS etc).
Course Content (Syllabus)
In this course are developed issues related to contemporary learning theories (behavorism, constructivism, sociocultural, social, information processing, technolgical etc) and is presented the implementation of learning principles in educational frames related to the teaching approach of Religious Education in schools. More specifically, are presented: the place of RE in education and the most important factors related to it. The curricula, the content of the course, the basic methodological preconditions for the instructional design of RE. The methodology, structure and conduct of teaching of RE. The integration and exploitation of the ICT applications (Information and Communication Technology) at all phases of the teaching approach of RE.
