Course Content (Syllabus)
The 3rd semester English primarily deals with forestry terms affecting basic components of the tree, like: the root, trunk, leaf, soil. The textbook used is 'English through Forestry', published by the University Studio Press. More specifically, the taught chapters have to do with the manufacturing of the 'tree', the 'root and its function', the 'trunk' of trees by examining each of its layers separately; the 'leaf' and the description of the photosynthesis process as well as the 'soil' structure (humus, hypha, horizons); 'land resources' and the causes of land loss (degradation, salinization, soil erosion). A glossary follows every text with the English explanation or synonym of each term as well. A plethora of tasks & exercises are offered by the author for the desired consolidation and key-terms assimilation.
