Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able:

Course Content (Syllabus)
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is one of the leading figures not only of the Orthodox but also of the entire Christian world. His patriarchy is a milestone for the modern history of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The subject of this course is the understanding of Orthodox Christianity today through the teaching of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

1. The Ecumenical Patriarchate throughout history Α΄.
2. The Ecumenical Patriarchate throughout history Β΄.
3. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s biography (His ecclesiastical and scientific work).
4. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Greek minority in Istanbul.
5. The Ecumenical Patriarchate within the Orthodox world. The Ecumenical Patriarch as “primus inter pares” Α΄.
6. The Ecumenical Patriarchate within the Orthodox world. The Ecumenical Patriarch as “primus inter pares” Β΄.
7. The inter – Christian diakonia of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The contribution of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew Α΄.
