Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to
-have a general knowledge of the of greek criminal law compared to other fields of law
-understand the meaning und the practical effects of the fundamental liberal guaranties enshrined in the Constitution with regard to the adoption and implementatOF greek criminal law rules and the relevant European Conventions on fundamental rights
-understand the basic concepts and the key doctrinal strucktures related to the notion of the crime
-solve practical issues dealt with by the courts, adapted to the difficulty level of the course
Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic notions and doctrinal structures of greeek criminal law: Act / Omission, causality, unlawfulness, grounds of justification, culpability (intention - negligence, mistake of law, grounds of excuse). Types of crimes and other distinctions. Place and time of the commission of a crime. Attempt. Participation. Basic Issues on European Convention on human rights. The general principles of criminal law under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
