Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is interested in the research and study of the sources of ecclesiastical and Byzantine history. Examined the sources: Ecclesiastical Historians, Byzantine Historians, Acts of Ecumenical Councils, Fathers documents, texts, inscriptions, etc. Then analyzed separately and linked to important events of ecclesiastic and Byzantine history. 1 . Church and Byzantine history 2 . The sources of Church and Byzantine History 3 . Byzantine historians and chroniclers , Church historians. 4. Eusebius, The father of ecclesiastical History 5.Church historians of the 4th, 5th and 6th century. 6.Church historians of the 7th, 8th and 9th century. 7.Church historians of the 10th, 11th and 13th century. 8.Church historians of 14th- and 15th-century. 9 . Byzantine historians from the 4th to the 8th Century 10 . Byzantine historians from the 9th to the 15th century 11 . The texts of the church fathers as a source of Ecclesiastical History 12 . The texts of the travelers as a source of Ecclesiastical History 13 . Other Texts as a source of church history (legal, geographical, poems, etc. ).
