After the end of the semester students are expected to have learned: - the historic evolution of the Greek Language - the problem of diglossia between the written language of the sacred texts and the oral language - the reception of the sacred languages

Course Content (Syllabus)
Families of human languages. The historic evolution of Greek. Hellenistic Greek (KOINE), the movement of Atticism,the influence of Rhetoric on the linguistic style and the erudite language of Christian Literature. The propagation of atticist Hochschparche in the Est Roman Empire. Diglossia between written and oral language. The case of Quran and vedas.
