Course Content (Syllabus)
Sufism and turuk (tarikats). Students will be informed about the diversity that exists in the Islamic world and they will understand the main branches of sunnis and shiis. They will learn about their theology and the evolution of these two branches, with a special reference to the shiis. At the same time they will be informed about the empirical and spiritual understanding of Islam from the diverse sufi branches. They will follow the evolution of Sufism during the formative, classic, modern and contemporary times.
