Learning Outcomes
Students who successfully completed the course are able:
to distinguish the attitude of the Orthodox Church and theology towards Islam at a time when Christian theology had reached its substantive structure. To understand the method of dialogue with religious diversity and the speeches of this dialogue. Inevitably, the study of the history of dialogue allows the view, always proportional and timely, of the possibilities of dialogue here, where the conditions and the cultural, theological and political facts have changed. In this way it is possible to avoid repeating the failures of history and to magnify the bright and important moments of this history.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The texts of the ecclesiastical literature are examined in order to create the image of patristic theology about Islam and the methodology of dialogue with otherness. It is also attempted to identify similarities and differences and the possible influences of Islam from Christianity.
