Learning Outcomes
Familiarity and then deepening of the students with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge of the basic principles and innovative modern techniques concerning the digital design and simulation as well as the key functions of such software. The provided knowledge relate inter alia to technics of vector and raster import and display of digital projects, systems and coordinate transformations, color models, commands in CAD systems and modern techniques of simulation space.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course develops multidimensional equally important interrelated theoretical and practical sections.
The theoretical modules on a comprehensive analysis of digital design, comparative methods and raster, vector image digitization, delivery devices and color models in PC, coordinates to basic systems design with PC and relationships among them and basic coordinate transformations and design algorithms.
The practical sections concerning: a) the use of basic drawing modes in order to vectorization and editing of maps, b) preparing 2D and 3D structural models in order to adapt to digital background maps, c) ways of plastic processing and adaptation models in space, d) representation of 3D models in multiple ways [Simulation (surface photorealistic models (surfaces rendering), Streak photorealistic models (edges rendering)], interactive space simulation in urban scale in a network environment, etc.
The practical sections are framed by presenting 3D integrated systems design and simulation as AutoCAD, SketchUp and other freeware software tools in the approximation representation, investigation and analysis of the space through a dynamic adjustment of new methodologies and software.
During the course dealt with many small projects-designs in urban and spatial scale.
