Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course the students will be able to create interactive thematic web maps using the tools available on an online web mapping platform. On the theoretical part, the students will be presented with various map products generated by current geovisualisation technologies and tools, through relevant applications presented and discussed in the class.

Course Content (Syllabus)
General concepts. Presentation of the third dimension on maps. Digital representation, modeling and cartographic portrayal of 3D objects / phenomena. Spatiotemporal mapping. Data Bases for temporal and spatial data, ways of cartographic representation for spatiotemporal / dynamic phenomena (dynamic maps, animated maps etc.) Cartography and multimedia Typical problems, perspectives and applications of cartographic multimedia. Cartography and the Internet. Methods, techniques and cartographic applications on the Web.
