Learning Outcomes
Different aspects of feminine and masculine sport found in the literature are presented and thoroughly discussed. Moreover the aim of the course is to gather and elaborate findings regarding gender issues from training science, physiology, medicine, sport psychology, and motor learning.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to the course. Definition of masculinity and femininity. Physiological aspects of male and female sport participants. Gender and sport participation. Research findings. Psychomotor performance and gender differences. Types of sports and gender issues. Teachers’ expectations in physical education class. Gender differences regarding exercise motivation. Physical self-concept and sport: Do gender differences exist? Differencies in aggression between gender. Leadership in sport: Gender differences and success interpretation. Gender stereotyping in televised media sport coverage. Paper presentation.
