Learning Outcomes
The aim of the module is to give students the adequate knowledge (theoretical and practical) so the will be capable teaching rhythmic gymnastics in elementary and secondary education, and in athletic clubs (private and national team).

Course Content (Syllabus)
Theory History of Rhythmic Gymnastics. The aim and propose of Rhythmic Gymnastics for girls. Music and movement through time. International Code of Points for rope and ball. Elements from different body group exercises. Girls’ selection for rhythmic gymnastics. Preparation of training plans for 9-10 years old and pre-juniors. How to include training methods and psychological techniques in training and competitions. In the lectures students learn about issues of ballet, biomechanical, rhythmic, music, choreography, diet, psychology, injury prevention. Practice 1st unit: practice ballet exercises about correct posture of the body and the arms. Technical analysis. 2nd unit: exercises about improving flexibility. Flexibility of the legs. Body waves. Acrobatic elements. 3rd unit: games in children of young age. Technical analysis of rhythmic steps. Tour chaines, tour soutenus, tour passé. Passé balance, élevé balance, arabesque balance. 4th unit: basic technique of rope. Exercises addressing to hands’ skills. 5th unit: practicing acrobatics and pre-acrobatics with rope. Saut de chat, sissone jump, jete jump, scissor jump. 6th unit: arabesque balance, attitude balance, á al second balance, different types of the above balances. Arabesque tour, attitude tour, passé tour 720o. Spirals in different planes. 7th unit: Judging programs according to the Code of Points. Jump jeté, jump grand jeté, jump anglais, jump fouetté. Combination of tours, balances and jumps using trows, wrappings, and passing through the rope. 8th unit: exercising with hoop. Mastering basic technique. Passing through the hoop by jumps, high throws and catches after one or two body elements. 9th unit: Constructing a program with hoop for young athletes. Mastering rolls on the body, roll over the arms. Rolls after a throw and after rotations. 10th unit: mastering variation of rolls on the floor. Combination of tours, balances and jumps using rotations, throws and passing through the hoop. 11th unit: constructing choreography with rope. Practicing. 12th unit: constructing choreography with hoop. Practicing. 13th unit: Games with ropes and hoops. Practicing learned elements.
