Learning Outcomes
Early Childhood Research and Pedagogy I is the 1st course of the first phase of the students' Practicum. It combines theoretical and practical knowledge through the observation and field visits in early childhood centres. They will be trained to observe effectively in order to analyse properly the educational procedure. They will be sensitized to various issues and problems regarding learning and teaching in young children.

Course Content (Syllabus)
-Value and utility of observation. Introduction to observation procedure -Familiarization with the program and the life in kindergarten -Methods of observation and data recording -Decisions and Rules for effective observation -The role and behavior of the observer -Composition and exploitation of the information collected from observations -Field observation in early childhood classrooms -Reliability and validity of observation
