Students are expected to learn: • What are fossils? • Index fossils and dating • Using fossils in Geology, stratigraphy, Paleoenvironment • How fossils expose in the field (2 daily field trips)

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to Palaeontology. Fossils and fossilization. Palaeontology and dating. Theory of evolution. Classification of invertebate fossils (Porifera, Cnidaria, Bryozoa, Vermes, Mollusca, Arthropods, Echinoderms, Graptolites)use of fossils in Stratigraphy and paleoecology.
