Learning Outcomes
The students will: Gain knowledge of the morphological traits of native and important exotic woody taxa (genera and species), which occur in the greek forest ecosystems. Learn about their geographical distribution and their biological demands. Identify important woody species of forest ecosystems, based mainly on vegetative characters. Identify woody species using morphlogical traits of crown, trunk and bark.

Description
Achievement of learning goals is evaluated at the end of the semester on the basis of written exams, laboratory exams (identification of plant taxa) and the assembly of a collection of plant specimens. Succesfull pass of the course requires succesfull pass on all three assignments (written and laboratory exams accepted collection of plant specimens) Written exams comprise multiple choice and short/extended answer questions. Total grade is the sum of all grades scored in the three exams/assignments multiplied by a fixed weight of importance as follows: Written exams grade: 70% laboratory excercises grade: 10% Plant collection: 20%
