Learning Outcomes
The learning objectives are to pore over students in a wide range of the field of material removal processes, acquiring theoretical and practical knowledge. Thus, they will gain a comprehensive knowledge of application of these processes, enabling to solve complex problems that arise during machining of various workpiece materials.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Manufacturing technology with material removal. Mechanics of the cutting processes. Tool wear and life time of uncoated and coated tools. Optimization of cutting conditions. Determination of cutting force components. Cutting tools, materials and coatings. Grinding processes, kinematics and tools. Grinding technologies. Gear manufacturing processes, gear hobbing, shaping, shaving grinding, lapping. Non conventional methods for metal removal. Electro-erosion. Laser applications in cutting
