Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the students will understand the principles of discrete event simulation in management and decision making. They will also understand the methodology of modeling the software Simul8 and they will be able to apply it to real business scenarios.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Principles of modelling with the methodology of discrete event simulation, sampling, random numbers from probability distributions, financial models and business management models, operations research models, software and simulation environments, statistical analysis in simulation (data analysis, outcomes analysis, design of experiments), comparison of systems and optimization, verification and validation of simulation models, modern approaches to simulation, simulation applications (industrial production, transport systems, information systems, telecommunications systems, etc.).
