Course Content (Syllabus)
The aims of the course 'Culture and technology' are: (a) to highlight the oppotrunities offered by the DeInformation and Communication Technologies (ICT) to the teachers in primary education in the field of culture, (b) to convey the basic principles of Cultural Informatics through an interdisciplinary approach, and (c) to present concrete examples of interactive multimedia applications in museology and museum education. Some of the issues that will be considered in the framework of the course are: - Introduction to the concepts of culture, Cultural Informatics and their application in the educational process, - Theories of museology and museum education, learning theories and their contribution to the implementation of applications in culture, - Design, development and evaluation of interactive cultural applications for education and entertainment, - Virtual museums and educational characteristics, - Methods and tools for creating virtual representations and digital games in museology and museum education.
