Learning Outcomes
The students will be able to recognize the main poetic currents of 19th and first half of 20th century poetry, to make the difference between them and to handle with some of the basic concepts in the poetic analysis in order to proceed to a personal and autonomous approach of the poetry.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The main poetic currents of 19th century will be studied (romanticism, parnassism, symbolism). Especially, emphasis will be given to modern elements - stylistic, morphological and thematical - wich contirbuted to the esthetic change and to create a different poetical voice in the second half of the 19e and the begining of the 20th century. During the course representative texts will be analysed.
