Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims at training the students in analysis techniques of aerial and satellite images using a PC and GIS, in landscape architecture projects. Contents, course objectives Technical data of aerial photos, electromagnetic spectrum, aerial photo interpretation, application in geomorphological mapping, space remote sensing, earth resources satellites, photographic and non-photographic systems, technical data of image aquisition, visual and digital processing land use mapping. Mapping systems, classical and physiographic methods, mapping scale. Mapping with aerial photos and satellite images, thematic layers, vector and raster data, spatial data analysis, map digitization, input-output and data visualization, spatial models, digital elevation models, steps for performing data analysis, projection systems, GPS.
