Purpose Presentation and comprehension of the natural, rural and suburban landscape on the ecological, functional and aesthetic level. Development of design methods for the natural landscape, according to contemporary principles of sustainable development of various land uses. Contents, course objectives a) Basic concepts of Landscape Ecology: Landscape structure – Landscape b) Outdoor recreation planning: Recreation potential – Recreational landscape capacity – Recreational design principles. c) Ecological design in the natural landscape: Ecosystems (possibilities and limitations) – Evaluation of ecological parameters – Planting plans – Wildlife preservation – Management and maintenance d) Principles of visual and aesthetic evaluation of the natural landscape: Landscape perception – Qualitative and quantitative methods – Landscape simulations.
