Course Content (Syllabus)
Description of degraded landscapes as a result of non sustainable management and anthropogenic pollution of the environment. Suggestions on landscape rehabilitation, restoration and conservation.
Introduction to environmental management. Characteristics of a natural healthy and a disturbed environment (terrestrial, aquatic, atmospheric). Indicators of polluted environment. Quality bioindices of aquatic ecosystems. Restoration, improvement and conservation of agricultural, sylvan, urban, industrial and wetland ecosystems. Applied techniques to improve the environment of coal mines, quarries, waste disposal sites, wetlands etc. Management plans. Monitoring of landscapes under restoration and conservation procedure. Improvement of the relative management plan.
