Upon the successful completion of this course students will be able to better understand language in terms of the words we use to create meaning. The course focuses on vocabulary for academic study and students will be able to understand how to use word families, collocations and multi-meaning words in order to create coherent text.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In this course, English II, students familiarize themselves with word families, collocations and multi-meaning words with special emphasis placed on vocabulary development in academic texts. The aim of the course is to explore the relationship between words so that they can be used appropriately and effectively. It provides extensive practice in the use of word families, collocations and multi-meaning words. We focus on over 2.000 word families that are frequently used in a wide variety of contexts, evident in both general and academic texts.
