Learning Outcomes
Enable students to use methods and techniques of psychological training, especially those to be implemented by coaches (goal setting, mental rehearsal, stress control, confidence improvement, focusing etc). The course will place emphasis on practical implications and exercises.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Introduction to Psychological Training in sports. Applied Sport Psychology. 2. The psychological characteristics of a high-level athletes. Psychological training methods 3. Motivation in competitive sports. From theory to practice. Tension management in sport. 4. Effective exercise of leadership in competitive sports. 5. Programs and principles of Goal Setting in competitive sports. 6. Strategies to improve the confidence of athletes. 7. Attention and focusing. The technique of self talk. Applications of mental rehearsal in competitive sports. 7. Psychodynamics of team sports. Group Climate. Cohesion. Group discussions and team building in sports 8. Counceling. Applied programs of psychological preparation of athletes 9. Dealing with errors, and stressful situations. Evaluation of psychological conditions. Profile, performance 10. Communication skills of coaches and crisis management in teams. 11. Special topics: Athletic dropout, burnout, the injured athlete and psychological interventions 12. Presentation of a research article 13. Review presentation
