To provide students with the necessary knowledge to understand the web application development technologies and the interaction between browsers and Web servers. To provide knowledge on the use of Dreamweaver to build sites with static content. To acquire skills on PHP language and learn how to use it to retrieve data from databases such as MySQL and how to convert them into HTML content. To understand the architecture of web applications and be able to design simple applications to improve communications and management in an organization.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines the use of technologies for Web application namely: the use of HTML, HTTP and server-side scripting languages with an emphasis on PHP. The use of Dreamweaver and Apache Web server for web page authoring and publishing. The use of PHP to manage data structures, loops, functions, files, sessions and cookies. The use of PHP to develop simple Web applications with dynamic content and databases. The use of open source database management systems and MySQL and PHP, to generate dynamic content.
