Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will be familiar with texts of the post- Byzantine era and will be able to approach the texts from a morphological, philological and theological point of view. At the same time they will become acquainted with the texts, the personality, the attitude, knowledge and qualities of each author.

Course Content (Syllabus)
An evaluation of the patristic texts of the post-Byzantine period is attempted along with an analysis of central theological positions. At the same time the ideas and convictions of the writers are presented in relation to the social conditions of their times. Allusions to the Scriptures and the Holy Fathers are also traced and discussed in relation to linguistic and philological aspects. 1. Introduction 2. On the Dormition of Theotokos. Homily H’ ( By Nectarius , Patriarch of Jerusalem) 3.On Theotokos’ Feast Homily J’( By Nectarius , Patriarch of Jerusalem) 4. a)Presentation of representative books and studies. b)Attendance of the scientific colloquium of the P.P.S. of the School, the “Exegeticum-Seminar of Orthodox Hermeneutical Theology”. 5.A word of rebuke against the Greek fallacy. Sermon E’ ( St Maximus Grekos). 6.. Against the Armenian misbeliefs. Sermon I’ ΄( St Maximus Grekos). 7.
