Course Content (Syllabus)
The topics of the course is structured around the major issues addressed by the Orthodox Church in the last seven centuries, from the time of Hesychasm today.
Topics:
1. The consequences of the schism of the church (1054), 2. The neptic tradition, 3. Hesychasm in the Orthodox Church, 4. The Orthodox Church in the 14th century, 5. St. Gregory Palamas and his era, 6.9. Defense of the Holy Hesychasts, 10. The hesychastic tradition of the Orthodox Church in Ottoman rule, 11. The Ecumenical Patriarchate and the autocephalous Church of Greece, 12. Orthodoxy diversity and divergence, 13. Towards a modern inter-Christian and inter-religious dialogue.
