Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is an introduction to the main concepts of social psychology. During the courses students attend three hour theoretical lectures that focus on: • object and levels of analysis of Social Psychology. History of social psychology, methods of research of social psychology • intragroup phenomena: compliance, obedience to authority, social influence, minority influence, group polarization • intergoup relations - Prejudice: realistic conflict, social deprivation, social identity theory, self-categorisation theory, crowd theories Students also attend an one hour seminar per week during which they a) study, discuss and present social psychology articles and b) come in touch with a variety of research methods used by social psychology
