Learning Outcomes
Upon the successful completion of the course, the students will be able to fully comprehend the electrical transients in power systems. Initially, they will be able to fully understand the behavior of traveling waves at line terminations, multiple reflections of travelling waves. In addition, the students will be able to comprehend circuit interruption and switching transients and protection mechanisms of systems and equipment against transient over-currents and over-voltages. Finally, the students will be able to mathematically model and estimate steady-state and transient stability of power systems.
General Competences
• Apply knowledge in practice
• Retrieve, analyse and synthesise data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
• Make decisions
• Design and manage projects
• Advance free, creative and causative thinking
