Learning Outcomes
Understanding the operation of RF electronic circuits, familiarity with the particular difficulties and problems with the design at high operating frequencies.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Review of RF amplifiers, High frequency power amplifiers in classes C, D, E, F, S, frequency multipliers, mixers and detectors, amplifiers and filters IF, Automatic gain control. The course includes compulsory work on issues related to recent developments in the design of communications circuits (transmitters, receivers, integrated circuits for mobile and wireless telephony, receivers GPS, integrated inductors, etc.) and presented by the students in groups of two (usually) individuals. It also includes a simple integrated design and simulation of component with electromagnetic analysis program (ADS - Momentum). The participation in all of the presentations is compulsory for everyone.
