Learning Outcomes
In the context of this course the students: - Will get a good knowledge about the basic concepts of the theory of International Trade. - Will get knowledge about the Theory of Protection and the practices related to it. - Will get knowledge about the globalisation process and the institutions dealing with this,(GATT, WTO). - Will get sufficient knowledge which can help them to construct an export business plan. - Will understand how to use this knowledge in the frame of the business environment.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Classical analysis, Ricardo Approach – Heckscher-Ohlin-Samuelson theorem – Paradox of Leontief – Dynamic Comparative advantage, Technological gap and Product Life Cycle Theory of Trade – Intra-industry Trade - Economic Growth and International Mobility of Productive Factors – International capital Movements, Foreign Direct Investments, Multinational Enterprise, Portofolio Investments – Trade Policy, Tariff and Non Tariff barriers – GATT and the Rounds (Kennedy, Tokyo, Uruguay Rounds)- Pertolium crisis - Asiatic tigers.
