Course Content (Syllabus)
Τhe history of the Greek language is presented briefly, focusing to the Koine Hellenistic and to the language of the Fathers and the of the ecclesial texts, and exposing the reasons that shaped their linguistic form. Anthologized texts of the periods under consideration are studied, the basic grammatical and syntactical features of the Ancient Greek language are illustrated and consolidated by exercises, whereas the vocabulary of the texts is commented semantically. The differences of the language between the biblical and the ecclesial texts are highlighted and the proper linguistic approach is taught.
