Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to describe and evaluate the basic history of Mount Athos, its relationship and its contribution to the Slavic world. Particularly: 1. To describe the history and contribution of Mount Athos to the Christian world. 2. To analyze the relations between Mount Athos and Slavs. 3. To appreciate the influence of the Slavs and slavic monasticism from the Mount Athos. 4. To realize the monasteries of Hilandari (Serbian), Panteleimon (Russian) and Zografou (Bulgarian), as spiritual bridges between Greece and the other Orthodox countries.
