Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand the principles of digital 3D model development focusing on theological objects, and will be able to use 3D software as an application platform for digital imprinting of theological, small and large-scale objects. Also they will be able to understand how additive technologies work (3D model printing).
General Competences
  • Apply knowledge in practice
  • Retrieve, analyse and synthesise data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
  • Adapt to new situations
  • Work autonomously
  • Work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Design and manage projects
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course aims that students acquire the theoretical background on 3d depictions, to specialize on the use of 3d software for depicting 3d objects and to understand and execute a 3d printing process. The examples that are used are oriented on objects of theological interest. 1. Introduction - history, 3D electronic design and printing, Ethical and non-ethical use. 2. Basic concept of 3d design, printing process - parameters analysis 3. Presentation of 3D software, menus, interface and initial settings. 4. Create 3D entities by using design tools. Examples-practice. 5. The use of tools (Extrusion, Rotation, etc.). Examples-practice. 6. Scale modeling, block creation, complex object synthesis. Examples-practice. 7. Imprinting a Large-Scale 3D Model I (Building). 8. Imprinting of Large-Scale 3D Model II (Orthodox Church). The use of a photograph and modelling. 9. Imprinting of Large-Scale 3D Model III (Create components- use of "rotation" and "follow me" tools). 10. Imprinting a three-dimensional small-scale theological model I. Examples-practice. 11. Imprinting a three-dimensional small-scale theological model II. Cristian Cross, Theological items 12. Additive manufacturing technologies. 13. Creating 3D stl files (sterolithography) for 3d printers. 3D files printing examples
