Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course of instruction is intended that the students are able to study texts Orthodox reflection on the social and cultural character of Europe. Moreover they can locate through the systematic study of the similarities and differences with secular texts corresponding reflection. Finally be able to study the relationship of the Orthodox Church as a spiritual power with sociopolitical factors in the European Union.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Culture, religion and Europe. European Constitution and ecclesiastical politics. Dialogues Orthodoxy and European Parties The positions of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for a United Europe. SCHEDULE OF SUPPLIES 1. Europe's place in world affairs in the next century. Two. The Treaty of Schengen. Three. Intercultural conflict and European unity. 4. Culture in International Relations. 5. European Constitution and Church-State Relations. 6. European Constitution and Religious Education. 7. European Constitution and Religious Freedom. 8. The Ecumenical Patriarchate converses with European political parties. 9. EU enlargement eastward and its importance to the Ecumenical Patriarchate. 10. Circulars and announcements of the Holy Synod of the Greek Church on E. E. 11. Mount Athos and Europe. 12. Official documents of the Ecumenical Patriarchate for the EU 13. Evangelical values, Byzantine Tradition and Peace in the European culture.
