Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course, the medical students will be able to:
1) understand the basic elements of surgical diseases
2) perform a clinical exam of the patient
3)complete a history and physical of the patient
4) familiarize themselves with the manner that a surgical department works
Course Content (Syllabus)
The goal of the course is to provide students with basic surgical knowledge, in addition to teaching the approach to the surgical patient regarding the history and physical exam, preoperative preparation and management, as well as postoperative care, including nutrition and water and electrolyte imbalances of the surgical patients
