Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will: Ηave the ability to read and create a map Be in position to combine geospatial data from different reference systems Be able to choose the appropriate scale for the creation of a map taking into account the map content and type of data Be in position to apply the appropriate techniques for displaying geospatial data both on analog and digital maps Be aware of the basic principles of compiling forest maps Be aware of available map sources data search engines

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introductory concepts. Projection systems. General and technical map design issues. Mapping of point, surface, volumetric and morphological elements. Thematic Cartography. Automated cartography. Exporting quantitative data from maps. Accuracy of mapping. Mapping methods. Classification systems. Mapping of vegetation.
