The students • To further enrich / deepen their knowledge regarding the Greek traditional dance, as well as the principles of learning and applying the methodological principles in its teaching. • To deepen in the form and structure of the Greek Traditional Dance. • To study the contribution of Greek traditional dance in the education and its relation to traditional and modern society.

Course Content (Syllabus)
• Dance and Folk Culture. Tradition and folklore. The study of Greek dance. Principles of learning (theoretical models of learning). Dance forms. The folk song. Preparation of a paper on the subject of Greek Traditional Dance. • Learning dances from geographical dippartments (Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, Thessaly, Roumeli, Peloponnese, Islands), and cultural groups (Sarakatsanaioi, Vlachoi, Pontioi) from all over Greece.

Student Assessment
Description
The assessment is based on students' regular and active participation in the course (10%), on the presentation of a paper concerning dancing at the end of the semester (30%), and oral, written and practical exams at the end of the semester (60%). The criteria are communicated to the students in the first lesson.
